A confidential source at the National Assembly in a telephone Conversation has disclosed to BREAKINGTIMES that copies of the 2016 budget submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22, 2015 are missing.
The source actually confirmed that the budget was not “missing” but was never submitted by the President. The Senators in a closed plenary session led by the Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume informed lawmakers that the document had been “stolen” from the National Assembly. This undemocratic behavior led the Senators to request for “fresh copies” be sent from the Presidency.
“I want to be honest with you, There is no need for going up and down. Buhari submitted an empty box to the National Assembly”, the source opined. “All that ceremony was paparazzi for the media, just to have it said that Buhari submitted a budget in 2015.”
“No Senator has seen the so called 2016 budget, The budget did not exist in the first place. This is just a face saving measure by the All Progressives Congress’ Senators”.
The Senators were supposed to commence the consideration of the N6.08tr budget today.
The disappearance of the budget document was announced during a closed door session that last 90 minutes. This is coming week after news of the withdrawal of the budget filtered round. Senators told our correspondent that the disappearance of the budget was announced by the Senate Leader Ali Ndume during the closed door session.
