There would be no gold or silver medal for Nigeria in the men’s football tournament of the 2016 Olympic Games following a crushing 2 – 0 defeat to Germany in the semi-finals.

As expected Nigerians had a lot to say about the crushing defeat.

Most who commented on social media claimed Nigeria missed star striker Oghenekaro Etebo, others felt Okechukwu Azubuike was missed in midfield.

In more concerned comments, some Nigerians felt the team should be lauded for even getting to the semi-final despite the financial difficulties rocking the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
