The EP focuses attention on social and political issues ravaging Nigeria and Africa.
Uk based Nigerian singer , songwriter and producer Eegun releases the self produced EP "The Awakening".
"The Awakening" features songs like 'Fantastically Corrupt', which was inspired by the former British Prime Minister David Cameron.
'Fantastically Corrupt' talks about the political situation in his country, Nigeria and how corruption is slowing the African giant from achieving its full potential. Other tracks like 'One life' and 'Police' contain very strong social messages from this self-acclaimed story teller.
Eegun was formerly the front man of the short lived London Afrobeat 10-piece band Bronzehead.
He has now re-invented himself and sound and believes no one makes music like him anymore. With a lot of music coming in from Nigeria and Africa , only few talk about social and political issues.
