Don Jazzy clearly stated that when he signs an artiste he invests at least 100 million on the artiste.
All the artistes he signed are doing well, all artistes under him are big names even Boy Spyce and BAYANI that recently got signed are doing so well.
Olamide signs Asake and Fireboy and all of them blow , they are super stars
Sydney Talker signs Khaid and he is already Global. Carter Efe signs Beri Tiga and in no time he was number one on Apple Music Nigeria and performing on big stages.
The nature or should we say the system in Nigeria is favorable for growth. This is why investors are not scared to put in money .
When these artistes blow they live good life and get almost all they want .
Back to CAMEROON and Banku Republic , you sign an artiste and put in over 20m and the artiste is not able to bring back 2 million , you see 18 million going . As an investor how will you feel? Obviously bad . This scares investors. The English part of the country is crazy, you sign an artiste and they are unable to make a hit song but make unpopular demands.
You’ve not made 1 million yet but when they are signing you , you demand for house , car , allowance and many other things . Isn’t that crazy ? The system in CAMEROON is crazy , investors and entertainers must understand each other to be able to grow.
The problem is NOT ONLY AT THE LEVEL OF FINANCE, People are ignorant about music business
They don’t know how to go about it , they just sign artistes and they drop songs and boom they want to be invited to go perform in Nigeria and many other places . No matter the kind of business you do , if you do not have a great knowledge about it , you’ll always fail . Study every business you want to do before you jump into it . Now we do not want to learn from successful people, when we reference Nigeria they be like “ Why always Nigeria ? , why always comparing ?” Everything to them is comparisons . Sometimes we just want you to learn from successful people, we are not comparing .
