🚨💣🧨Super Eagles Squad Announced: Iheanacho Left Out, Akpom and Chrisantus Get Call Up
The Super Eagles squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers has been revealed, with some notable inclusions and omissions. On-loan Sevilla forward Kelechi Iheanacho was surprisingly left out, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Nathan Tella has earned a recall.
According to OwnGoal Nigeria, two fresh faces have been included in the squad Getafe’s Uche Chrisantus and Lille’s Chuba Akpom. The number of new players could rise to three if an unnamed player completes his nationality switch before the squad is officially confirmed.
However, the list remains subject to changes due to injuries and fitness concerns. Key players like Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Semi Ajayi are all racing against time to be fit for the crucial games against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
With the qualifiers fast approaching, Super Eagles fans will be hoping that their top stars recover in time to help Nigeria, who found themselves in a very tight situation in their qualification group secure a spot in the tournament.
