After performing a contemporary routine on Dancing with the Stars, an emotional Nick Carter was joined by his wife, Lauren Kitt, for a post-dance interview with Erin Andrews.
After receiving a perfect score from the judges, Carter and his wife uncovered a very large present covered in silver glitter and a big, purple bow to reveal blue balloons.
Carter then hugged and kissed his wife, the person he selected as his icon for the show's idol week. The Backstreet Boy revealed that the couple had been trying to have a baby for about a year.
"It's been rocky to be quite honest with you," Carter said in an on-camera interview. "There's been times when we thought it wouldn't happen."
"We were pregnant before, and we lost the baby," Carter's wife said. "And it was really hard on Nick."
The singer said that Kitt is 16 weeks pregnant.
